‘Auaha: Creativity in the Neighbourhood’ follows the journey of the Auahatanga ki te Kāinga programme, a community-based initiative that set out to bring creativity, wellbeing, and connection to families living in social housing.
Running for six months in 2025, the programme embedded artists in neighbourhood community houses across Kirikiriroa/Hamilton, Aotearoa/New Zealand.
From its inception, through development, to the outcomes of this innovative programme, the film uses observational footage and candid interviews to explore how culture and creativity can impact both individuals and community.
